Captain(E) Alex Wilson, CEng MIMarEST, spent 38 years with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service (RFA) of the Royal Navy (RN), the latter years as the Senior Technical Superintendent responsible for fleet technical management, maintenance, dry dockings, spares purchasing and associated budgets. He has a wide experience in ship technical management having worked for a major ship management company, gaining experience in commercial ship operation and ship technical management. Latterly he has worked as a Marine Engineering consultant, both independently and in full time employment. Clients have been London Off-shore Consultants, International Marine Consultants and BAE SYSTEMS. Most recently with BAE SYSTEMS he has worked as a Marine Engineering design  support consultant for RN and RFA surface ships, managing a multi-disciplined team of engineers.  During these years  he also gained valuable experience in the docking, refit and maintenance of high speed craft.  Captain Wilson holds a current UK Maritime & Coast Guard Administration (MCA) Class 1 Marine Engineering licence (steam & motor), is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.
